Suchir Balaji, a former OpenAI employee and whistleblower, was found dead in his San Francisco apartment on November 26.
The 26-year-old’s death was ruled a suicide by the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Balaji, who had worked at OpenAI for nearly four years, resigned after raising concerns about the company’s alleged use of copyrighted data, which he believed violated copyright law and posed risks to the internet, Fox News has reported.
His concerns came amid ongoing lawsuits against OpenAI and Microsoft over similar issues. OpenAI expressed condolences to his family following his death.
