New US strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

Suspected U.S. airstrikes hit Yemen overnight, reportedly killing one person, as the U.S. military confirmed targeting a major Houthi-controlled site in Sanaa.

The strikes, part of an intensified campaign under President Trump, have expanded beyond launch sites to include high-ranking personnel and urban areas.

The Houthis, who have targeted over 100 merchant vessels since late 2023, now threaten Saudi Arabia and the UAE over U.S. attacks.

Meanwhile, satellite images reveal a new airstrip on Yemen’s Mayun Island, potentially linked to the UAE, the Associated Press has reported.

The U.S. has also deployed B-2 bombers and aircraft carriers to the region.
