Cops Probe If Captured Assassin Is Part of ‘Broader Network’

Authorities are investigating whether Vance Luther Boelter, arrested for the fatal shooting of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, and the attempted murder of Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, acted alone or as part of a larger network.

Boelter, 57, was captured after a two-day manhunt and faces multiple murder charges.

Officials say he disguised himself as a police officer and may have had a hit list targeting Democratic lawmakers.

While authorities believe he acted alone, they are exploring possible connections to a broader network, the Daily Beast has reported.

The motive appears to be political, possibly fueled by extremist views and personal struggles.
