NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children, Emma (14) and Ryder (5), were among six people killed in a fiery private jet crash, according to multiple sources and NASCAR.
The Cessna C550, owned by Biffle through GB Aviation Leasing, crashed around 10:15 a.m. while attempting to land at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina.
The jet had taken off minutes earlier and was seen flying erratically and too low before bursting into flames on impact.
Fellow NASCAR driver and YouTuber Cleetus McFarland confirmed the family was en route to visit him and expressed devastation over the loss, the U.S. Sun has reported.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash, which involved a jet built in 1981.
