Brad Arnold, lead singer of rock band 3 Doors Down, dies at 47

Brad Arnold, lead singer of Grammy-nominated rock band 3 Doors Down, has died at 47 after a battle with Stage 4 kidney cancer.

The band said he passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones.

Arnold co-founded 3 Doors Down in 1995, writing their breakout hit “Kryptonite” at age 15, and helped define mainstream rock with six albums, including The Better Life and Us And The Night.

The band earned two Grammy nominations, and hits like “Loser,” “When I’m Gone,” and “Be Like That” brought widespread recognition, the AP has reported.

Arnold announced his cancer diagnosis in May 2025, which had forced the cancellation of a summer tour, and the band praised his music for creating lasting connections and joy among fans.
