Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said Monday that “a lot of congressmen probably should be in jail” while discussing Jeffrey Epstein on Newsmax.
He criticized former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ahead of potential depositions, calling them an “evil pair” but saying he does not expect meaningful accountability.
Burchett argued they are unlikely to face consequences because Congress lacks the power to jail people and because of what he described as a two-tiered justice system.
He said the Epstein-related investigations will likely “boil down to nothing,” despite public interest, Mediaite has reported.
Burchett also speculated that Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell could face deadly consequences if released early and reiterated his belief that Epstein did not kill himself.
