Over the past few months, ChatGPT has been everywhere, and it seems that Microsoft is ready to boost the AI tool with an upgrade that may put it back in the spotlight.
This is due to the anticipated launch of GPT-4, which could allow users to create AI-generated videos from simple text prompts, and it is expected to arrive as early as next week, Digital Trends reported.
The news was revealed by Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Germany, According to Braun, “We will introduce GPT-4 next week … we will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities — for example videos.”
GPT-4 is the fundamental technology behind large language models like ChatGPT. Currently, ChatGPT is restricted to generating text-based responses, but it appears that the upcoming upgrade will alter that paradigm.
While ChatGPT won’t be the pioneer in producing AI-generated videos, as Facebook’s Meta launched Make-A-Video in 2022, which uses brief text prompts to create realistic videos. It seems like the upcoming version of ChatGPT might possess similar capabilities, as reported by Digital Trends.
