Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s arrest of former President Donald Trump was “ridiculing the rule of law.”
“The arrest and arraignment of former President Donald Trump by a left-wing Soros prosecutor today is making a mockery of the rule of law,” Cruz said in a tweet on Tuesday. “Not only is the indictment frivolous, this political persecution marks a dark day for our country.”
At approximately 1:35 p.m., the former president was taken into custody and subsequently presented before a judge, who arraigned him on 34 charges of falsifying business records at 2:45 p.m, Breitbart News reported.
During his groundbreaking arraignment, Trump entered a plea of not guilty to all 34 charges.
Trump previously called his indictment “political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history.”
