Federal agents and Los Angeles police conducted a major nighttime sweep of MacArthur Park as part of Operation Free MacArthur Park, an ongoing effort to eliminate open-air drug markets.

About 100 officers targeted drug dealers and users, marking the third large-scale operation since the crackdown began in early June.

Authorities say earlier raids resulted in multiple arrests and citations and have disrupted drug sales in the area.

The operation follows previous actions against members of the 18th Street Gang and suppliers linked to the Mexican Mafia and the Sinaloa cartel, TCD has reported.

Officials have pledged to continue regular enforcement efforts until the park is restored as a safe public space for Los Angeles residents.
