A Mexican social media influencer was shot and killed while livestreaming outside a restaurant in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in an attack captured on video.

The victim, 25-year-old Cesar Gastelum, had more than 600,000 TikTok followers and was filming with friends when two people on a motorcycle approached and opened fire.

Police confirmed his death and launched an investigation as soldiers and forensic teams responded to the scene.

The killing comes amid ongoing cartel violence in Sinaloa, where several influencers have been targeted in recent years, CBS News has reported.

Authorities continue to investigate whether the attack was connected to organized crime.
