Police raid home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s son as guns and ammunition are seized

Police reportedly raided a Minneapolis apartment where Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son lives and recovered guns and ammunition.

The search followed a traffic stop involving Omar’s son’s roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, during which officers reportedly found a firearm in his vehicle.

Police later arrested Abdi at the apartment on a weapons charge, while authorities have not said that Omar’s son was arrested or accused of wrongdoing.

Investigators reportedly recovered additional firearms and ammunition from the apartment during the search warrant, the Daily Mail has reported.

The incident has drawn attention because of Omar’s political positions on gun restrictions, although authorities have not publicly linked her son to any criminal activity.
