Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in a Miami federal court as they fight extradition to the United Kingdom, where they face rape, human trafficking and other charges. 

The brothers complained about their treatment in jail and argued that remaining behind bars is making it difficult for them to prepare their defense.

Both men denied wrongdoing and claimed their controversial online personas, including Andrew Tate’s “Top G” image, were exaggerated characters created for attention.

Prosecutors argued that the brothers should remain in custody, citing their alleged criminal conduct, multiple passports and statements suggesting they could be a flight risk, the BBC has reported.

The judge did not immediately rule on their request for bail, meaning the brothers will remain in the Miami jail while the extradition process continues.
