Ukrainian forces launched more than 1,000 drones and missiles at targets across Russia, including hundreds aimed at Moscow, in what Moscow’s mayor called the largest drone attack on the capital.

The strikes damaged a Moscow oil refinery and a residential building, while authorities said two people were killed and 20 wounded in the wider Moscow region.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine used domestically produced missiles and drones to target Russian oil and logistics facilities in an effort to reduce revenue supporting the war.

The attacks occurred as Russia held parliamentary elections that included voting in occupied Ukrainian territories, which Kyiv condemned as illegal, NPR has reported.

Russia said it destroyed about 1,100 Ukrainian drones nationwide, as the two sides continued an escalating campaign of long-range aerial strikes while ground fighting along the front line remained constrained by widespread drone use.
