Gunman kills 5 at LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs 

Just before midnight on Saturday, a 22-year-old gunman entered an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado and immediately opened fire, killing at least five people and injuring 25 others, before patrons of the nightclub confronted and stopped him from doing more har, police said on Sunday.

  • CBS NEWS – At a news conference Sunday morning, Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez identified the suspect as 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, who was being treated for injuries.
  • CNN – At least two people inside the club confronted and fought the gunman and prevented further violence, Vasquez said. “We owe them a great debt of thanks,” he said.
  • FOX NEWS – President Biden condemned gun violence and attacks on the LGBTQ community following Saturday’s mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado on Sunday. The president acknowledged that “no motive” had yet been determined in the shooting, but nevertheless connected the attack to the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Florida six years ago. 
  • KRDO – A bartender is one of five people who died in a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub on Saturday.  ABC News confirmed through family members that 28-year-old Daniel Davis Aston, a bartender at Club Q died.
