In light of the mounting demands for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to resign due to her prolonged recuperation from shingles, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) intends to temporarily replace her on the Judiciary Committee this week.

As per the Hill’s report, Schumer stated that he hopes to carry out this task sometime during the current week.

According to Schumer, he recently had a conversation with Feinstein, during which she conveyed her optimism regarding her quick return, but didn’t give a definite timeline.

During a press briefing, the New York Democrat shifted the responsibility to the Republicans and urged them to permit a temporary replacement until Feinstein is fit to resume her duties.

He stated, “We think the Republicans should allow a temporary replacement until she returns,” as reported by Breitbart News.

“It’s the only right and fair thing to do,” he added. “That’s the correct thing to do and we hope they will do it.
