Authorities announced on Tuesday that a man from Florida has been charged with murder and other crimes related to the killing and dismemberment of an Uber Eats driver who had delivered food to his house.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said at a news conference that Oscar Solis Jr., 30, killed the driver during a delivery at his Holiday, Florida home on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported.
Police found the victim’s remains in trash bags and a cooler, which also contained a receipt with Solis’ name on it, according to a police affidavit.
Nocco described the crime as a “horrific crime of passion” and stated that it was “demonic.” Solis is facing multiple charges, including murder while engaged in a robbery, failure to register as a convicted felon, and parole violation, according to jail records.
He had served four years in an Indiana prison for an assault and burglary conviction and was released in January. He had moved to the Florida home just three months ago.
