Bud Light sales are falling, but distributors say they’re sticking by the brand

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Bud Light and its parent company, Anheuser-Busch, beer distributors are predominantly remaining loyal to the brand.

Recently, two Instagram posts featuring transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney stirred up anger from conservative groups and impacted sales, CNN reported.

In an effort to address any misunderstandings among retailers, the brewing giant held a meeting with wholesalers during the National Beer Wholesalers Association Legislative conference on Tuesday.

The objective of this gathering, as reported by the influential industry newsletter Beer Business Daily, was to alleviate any potential misconceptions surrounding the Mulvaney campaign.

Anheuser-Busch took steps to address the “misinformation” and “confusion” surrounding the can provided to Mulvaney, clarifying that it was not part of an official campaign or advertisement.

In a memo obtained by BBD, the company emphasized that the single can given to Mulvaney was not intended for general public sale.

The memo aimed to provide distributors with accurate information to address any misconceptions surrounding the situation.
