Robinhood announces plans to launch 24-hour trading

Robinhood (HOOD) announced on Wednesday that starting from next Monday, May 16, users will have the ability to trade stocks and ETFs 24 hours a day, five days a week.

The expanded trading hours, from 8:00 a.m. ET on Monday to 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, were unveiled alongside the company’s first-quarter results, Yahoo Finance reported.

Over 40 stocks and ETFs, including popular names like Apple (AAPL) and Tesla (TSLA), will be eligible for around-the-clock trading.

During the earnings call, Vlad Tenev, co-founder and CEO of Robinhood, expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced stock trading feature, highlighting its potential to empower customers in managing risk and seizing opportunities regardless of the time of day.

This move is seen as an exciting upgrade to Robinhood’s trading platform, providing users with greater flexibility and accessibility.
