Durham: Obama, Biden Briefed in 2016 on Clinton’s Plan to Link Trump to Russia

According to a report released by Special Counsel John Durham on Monday, then-President Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden were personally briefed by then-CIA Director John Brennan in 2016.

The briefing disclosed evidence that the CIA had obtained regarding Hillary Clinton’s purported plan to falsely link then-presidential candidate Donald Trump to Russia, Breitbart News reports.

The report indicated that the intelligence originated from a “highly significant” source and highlighted a Clinton campaign strategy aimed at tarnishing Trump’s reputation by connecting him to Vladimir Putin.

The objective was to divert attention from Clinton’s own concerns related to her use of a private email server.

Brennan briefed Obama, Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey, and other senior officials within days of receiving the tip.

Handwritten notes from Brennan revealed that Clinton allegedly approved a proposal on July 26, 2016, from one of her foreign policy advisors to discredit Donald Trump by fabricating a scandal involving Russian interference.

The report stated that Brennan provided a briefing on August 3, 2016, in the White House Situation Room, where he shared relevant intelligence about Russian election interference known at the time.

Additionally, the report disclosed that the CIA formally referred the matter to Comey and Peter Strzok, then-Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, as reported by Breitbart News.

However, the FBI took no action to investigate the intelligence concerning Clinton’s plan. This revelation suggests that despite Obama and Biden’s awareness of the origins of the allegations of Trump campaign Russian collusion being part of Clinton’s scheme, they did not disclose or address it, further perpetuating the notion of Russian interference in the U.S. elections.
