Former President Donald Trump announced that Melania’s mother, Amalija Knavs, aged 78, is currently facing a serious illness.
He shared with a supportive audience during a New Year’s Eve gathering at his Mar-a-Lago estate that the family is going through a challenging time.
Melania chose to forgo the New Year’s Eve celebrations to be with her mother, who is currently hospitalized nearby.
“Hopefully she’ll be recovering,” the former president said after mentioning he had just gotten off the phone with Melania who is at a Miami hospital caring for her sick mother.`
“It’s a tough one, a very tough one,” Trump continued, saying Melania “sends her love.”
During Trump’s New Year’s Eve festivities, Vanilla Ice took the stage to deliver a performance of his greatest hits, the Daily Mail reported.
Meanwhile, Trump remained still behind his chair positioned in the center of the ballroom.
Adding to the entertainment, a dancer dressed as Michelangelo the Ninja Turtle joined the singer on stage, showcasing some lively moves beside him.
