K-9 stabbed to death by gang members at Virginia prison

Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia pledges to hold accountable a group of MS-13 members involved in the killing of a K-9 during a sudden prison attack.

Four inmates, three with confirmed ties to MS-13, were implicated in the incident at Sussex I State Prison, where a K-9 named Rivan was fatally stabbed and kicked while protecting Corrections Officer Kharmishia Phillip Fields.

Governor Youngkin condemned the “barbaric” actions and assured that those responsible would face justice, Fox News reported.

The Virginia Department of Corrections mourned Rivan’s death, highlighting the K-9’s heroic actions in protecting staff and inmates.

Director Chad Dotson emphasized Rivan’s sacrifice and vowed to honor his memory.
