An Idaho judge has lifted the gag order in the Bryan Kohberger murder case after Kohberger pleaded guilty to killing four University of Idaho students in 2022.
The order was initially intended to protect his right to a fair trial, but media organizations argued it was no longer necessary.
Judge Steven Hippler agreed but said court documents would be unsealed gradually.
Kohberger faces four life sentences without parole, with sentencing set for July 23.
Despite waiving his right to appeal, the judge noted a Supreme Court ruling that may still allow him to appeal, Fox News has reported.
A separate motion seeks to unseal nearly 250 documents in the case.
