Seaplane Pilot Makes ‘Miracle’ Emergency Landing on Busy Street

A pilot made an emergency landing on a Phoenix roadway after his plane’s engine failed shortly after takeoff from a private runway in Laveen, Arizona.

With two passengers on board, he descended from about 2,500 feet and chose a clear stretch of 7th Street to land safely.

Emergency crews responded quickly, and all three occupants escaped with only minor injuries and no hospitalizations.

The plane avoided cars, buildings, and pedestrians but caused a broken water main, People.com has reported.

Officials described the outcome as a “miracle” given the circumstances.
