Alleged gunman in custody after Austin shooting left 6 people injured

A shooting at a barbecue restaurant in Austin on Sunday night left six people injured, according to police.

Authorities say 24-year-old Wesley E. Brown was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on East 12th Street after a physical altercation between two men escalated into gunfire.

Police said bystanders were struck during the exchange, the USA Today has reported.

All six victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
