Nathan Chasing Horse, a former “Dances With Wolves” actor, was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting Indigenous women and girls.
A Nevada jury found him guilty on 13 charges, mostly involving sexual assault of multiple victims, including one who was 14 when the abuse began.
During sentencing, victims described lasting trauma and said he exploited his role as a spiritual leader.
Chasing Horse denied the allegations and called the verdict a miscarriage of justice, CBS News has reported.
Additional charges in other jurisdictions, including Canada, are still pending as related investigations continue.
