Jay Bryant, the third man charged in the 2002 murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay (Jason Mizell), pleaded guilty in federal court to his role in the killing.
He admitted helping the gunmen gain access to Mizell’s Queens recording studio and knowing in advance that a shooting would take place.
Prosecutors say Bryant assisted Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington, who were previously convicted of the murder after a drug-related dispute.
Bryant did not directly identify the shooters in his plea but acknowledged his actions contributed to the ambush that led to Mizell’s death, NBC News has reported.
The case stems from allegations that Mizell was killed after a falling-out over a cocaine distribution deal.
