Alphanso Talley, a 26-year-old Chicago man, has been charged with first-degree murder and multiple felonies after a shooting that killed one police officer and critically injured another.
Authorities say the incident is connected to both an earlier armed robbery and a later shooting at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital on April 25.
Police arrested Talley near the hospital shortly after the shooting and recovered a weapon at the time of his arrest.
The fallen officer was identified as 38-year-old John Bartholomew, while the second officer remains in critical condition, the USA Today has reported.
Officials said the charges mark the first step toward accountability as the investigation continues.
