Kuwait accused Iran of sending six armed Revolutionary Guard members to infiltrate Bubiyan Island, home to a major China-backed port project, in a failed attack earlier this month.
Kuwaiti forces detained four suspects, including Iranian military officers, while two escaped, and one Kuwaiti officer was injured.
The accusation came ahead of a U.S.-China summit and highlighted continued regional tensions despite a fragile ceasefire with Iran.
At the same time, U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee revealed that Israel deployed Iron Dome missile defense systems and personnel to the UAE during the conflict, marking the first publicly known Israeli military deployment there, Ynet News has reported.
The developments reflect deepening Gulf-Israel security ties, ongoing concerns over Iran’s regional actions, and broader efforts by Gulf states to strengthen defense cooperation.
