Deadly Texas train car tied to far-reaching human smuggling operation

Six people were found dead inside a shipping container at a Texas border railyard, with investigators linking the case to a suspected human smuggling operation tied to train routes from Del Rio.

Authorities also believe a man found dead near railroad tracks outside San Antonio is connected to the same group, suggesting a broader smuggling network moving migrants into the U.S.

Five of the victims have been identified as being from Honduras and Mexico, while one person remains unidentified.

Early findings indicate the deaths were likely caused by extreme heat inside sealed rail containers, which can reach life-threatening temperatures and cannot be opened from the inside, News Nation has reported.

Federal and local agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations and ICE, are investigating the incidents as a coordinated smuggling case spanning multiple locations in Texas.
