NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte pledged continued support for Ukraine after Russian drone strikes occurred near the Polish border.

Rutte said NATO would strengthen its defenses along its eastern border and would not be deterred from supporting Kyiv.

Poland also announced increased security along its border with Ukraine after Russian drones struck a train and areas near border crossings.

European officials said the attacks appeared intended to frighten Western countries into reducing their support for Ukraine, Al-Jazeera has reported.

Russia defended its military operations, saying its forces would continue attacking targets across Ukraine.
