Three pedestrians were killed and several others injured late Saturday night in Oakland, California, when a vehicle struck people and cars near International Boulevard and 85th Avenue.
Police said the driver was traveling at high speed before hitting a parked vehicle and multiple pedestrians, with the cause of the crash still under investigation.
The driver, identified as a juvenile, was arrested and also taken to a hospital along with other injured individuals.
Officials said three additional victims were transported to hospitals with conditions ranging from critical to stable, though the names of those killed have not been released, ABC News has reported.
Oakland leaders expressed condolences, with Mayor Barbara Lee calling it a tragic loss and thanking first responders for their efforts.
