A woman in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, was injured after a dog accidentally caused a shotgun to discharge inside a vehicle parked at a convenience store.

Police said the owner had pulled into the Short Stop store when the dog moved inside the truck and triggered the loaded firearm.

The blast struck the vehicle and sent pellets outside, one of which hit a woman who was sitting in a nearby car at a traffic light.

Her injury was not considered life-threatening, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment, KNOP News 2 has reported.

Authorities are still investigating the unusual accidental shooting.
