A shooting outside Kaiser medical offices in San Jose left two people with life-threatening injuries, a man and a woman found in a shared parking area.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, where the man later died and the woman remained in critical but stable condition.

Police believe the deceased man was the primary suspect and say the two individuals knew each other, though their relationship is still under investigation.

Authorities have described the incident as isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the public, ABC 7 has reported.

The shooting caused panic at the medical complex, with staff and patients sheltering in place while police secured the scene.
