Police used water cannon to disperse around 300 rioters in Northern Ireland during a second night of anti-immigration unrest near Newtownabbey.
Protesters burned vehicles, built barricades, and threw bricks and petrol bombs, while smaller disturbances were also reported in Derry and Coleraine.
The violence followed a knife attack in north Belfast, although several planned protests failed to materialize and a demonstration at Stormont remained peaceful.
The family of stabbing victim Stephen Ogilvie condemned the disorder, urged an end to misinformation, and emphasized that he is in stable condition, The Guardian has reported.
Northern Ireland ministers also denounced the riots, warning that those involved were exploiting public anger and causing harm to local communities.
