Two people were killed in a BASE jumping accident in a Utah canyon during a tandem jump, authorities said.
One of the victims was Andy Lewis, an extreme athlete known for performing with Madonna during the 2012 Super Bowl and for his work in BASE jumping.
The second victim was 68-year-old Danny Joe Kregle, a businessman and grandfather who was jumping with Lewis at the time.
The pair were reportedly harnessed together during the descent when the fatal incident occurred in Grand County, the AP has reported.
Lewis was widely known in the BASE jumping community for his skill and high-risk style, while Kregle was remembered by family for his humor and love of magic tricks.
