An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was injured after being struck by a van during an attempted arrest in Stafford Township, New Jersey, on Monday morning.
Police said the suspect fled in a vehicle, hit the agent, and the agent fired shots at the van, possibly striking it.
The officer is expected to recover, though authorities have not released further details about his condition or the suspect’s identity.
The driver and vehicle remain at large, and the reason for the initial pursuit has not been disclosed, NBC News has reported.
The FBI has taken over the investigation while local police manage traffic and secure the scene.
