Delaware hospital shooting suspect identified, faces murder charge

A 23-year-old Delaware man, John Wallace-Bey, has been charged with murder and other firearm-related offenses in connection with a fatal shooting at ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital.

He was arrested in Philadelphia on June 16 after a hours-long manhunt and is awaiting extradition to Delaware.

Authorities say one victim was killed and another remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Wallace-Bey was denied bail during a preliminary court appearance and is scheduled for an extradition hearing on June 29, the USA Today has reported.

Police believe the shooting was a targeted and isolated incident, though the motive remains under investigation.
