World’s tallest skyscraper approaches major construction milestone

Construction of Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, set to become the world’s tallest building, is advancing rapidly toward key milestones.

The tower is expected to exceed 1,000 meters in height, surpassing Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, and has already reached more than 400 meters.

Project leaders say construction is progressing at about four meters per week, with the 500-meter mark expected within six months and the 160th-floor sky terrace targeted in about 60 weeks.

Jeddah Tower is a centerpiece of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification plan and the larger Jeddah Economic City development, Newsweek has reported.

While the tower continues to move forward, several other major Saudi megaprojects, including parts of NEOM and the Mukaab, have faced delays, funding reviews, or revised timelines.
