Woman Allegedly Faked a Bomb Threat to Avoid a $14 Parking Fee in Downtown Las Vegas

A 33-year-old woman in Las Vegas allegedly triggered a major police response after refusing to pay a $14 parking fee.

Authorities say she told a garage attendant and a parking enforcement officer that there was a bomb in the area, prompting evacuations and a multi-hour shutdown of nearby streets.

Specialized police units, along with fire crews, responded and kept the area closed for roughly five hours while investigating.

The disruption stranded drivers and blocked access near the Regional Justice Center before operations were eventually restored and parking fees were waived for affected motorists, Yahoo News has reported.

The woman was arrested and charged with two felony counts of communicating a bomb threat and later appeared in court.
