The fighting has intensified as a previous peace agreement collapsed, disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and driving oil prices above $90 per barrel.

U.S. forces said the latest strikes targeted Iranian military sites, including command centers, missile launch locations, and air defense systems.

Iran reported explosions but did not immediately confirm casualties, while tensions also affected shipping after a vessel caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz, the AP has reported.

Meanwhile, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait activated air defenses as Iran continued launching drones and missiles across the region.
