Mamdani says NYC can’t arrest Prime Minister Netanyahu

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the city does not have the legal authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despite previously pledging to do so.

Mamdani instead called on the federal government to enforce the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant, describing Netanyahu as a “war criminal.”

He also said Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City.

The ICC warrant accuses Netanyahu of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, ABC 7 has reported.

Netanyahu dismissed Mamdani’s comments, criticizing the mayor’s stance and rejecting the allegations.
