A serviceman in Russian-held Crimea allegedly opened fire on fellow soldiers and civilians, killing four people and injuring four others in the village of Khmelnytske.

According to local authorities, the gunman first shot fellow soldiers before attacking nearby civilians.

The suspect was detained, and officials have launched an investigation into the motive.
