Albuquerque police arrested 35-year-old Victor Rivera-Jimenez in connection with a road-rage shooting that killed 30-year-old Corsinio Martinez Friday evening.

Police say Martinez was shot while driving on Unser Boulevard and crashed into a light pole, where officers found him dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators identified Rivera-Jimenez’s black GMC Sierra using automated license plate readers and later found surveillance footage placing him and his family in the truck during the shooting.

Rivera-Jimenez was arrested by SWAT officers Saturday and allegedly confessed, telling police he believed he was being followed and feared for his life, ABQ Raw has reported.

He faces charges including murder, shooting from a motor vehicle and two counts involving child abandonment or abuse, while a previous 2021 firearms case was dismissed and did not result in a conviction.
