Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio will remain in his reelection race after the deadline passed for Republicans to replace him as their nominee.

Miller faced growing calls from fellow Republicans to step aside following allegations from his ex-wife that he physically abused her and their daughter, which he has denied.

His father-in-law, Sen. Bernie Moreno, and Sen. Jon Husted urged Miller to leave office, while President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson continued to support him.

The House Ethics Committee is investigating allegations involving domestic violence and illegal drug use after Miller asked the panel to investigate him, CNBC has reported.

Miller is now expected to face Democrat Brian Poindexter in November as Republicans fight to protect their narrow House majority.
