Chicago mass shooting leaves 1 dead, 14 others injured on South Side

A mass shooting on Chicago’s South Side late Saturday night left one person dead and at least nine others injured.

The shooting happened around 11:37 p.m. in the Washington Park area as police were attempting to disperse a large crowd.

A 35-year-old man was shot multiple times and later died at the University of Chicago Medical Center, while several other victims were hospitalized with injuries.

Police said unknown gunmen opened fire into the crowd, but no description of the shooters or clear motive has been released, Fox 32 has reported.

Area detectives are investigating the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested.
