A mass shooting in Trenton, New Jersey, early Sunday morning left two people dead and eight others hospitalized.

Police said gunfire erupted around 12:25 a.m. during a gathering on Locust Street, where multiple suspects reportedly fired into a crowd.

The victims ranged in age from 23 to 43, with a 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man among those killed.

Authorities described the gathering as an unauthorized cookout and said the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine what led to the shooting, NBC 10 Philadelphia has reported.

No suspects had been publicly identified or arrested as of Sunday, while police continued investigating the scene and searching for those responsible.
