Jurors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial are set to continue deliberating after telling the judge they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, is accused of strangling her three children at their Massachusetts home in January 2023 before attempting suicide.

Her defense argues that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible for the killings.

Prosecutors argue that Clancy knew what she was doing and deliberately planned the killings, pointing to evidence presented during the five-week trial, the AP has reported.

The jury has already deliberated for several days, and if it remains deadlocked, the judge could eventually declare a mistrial and prosecutors would have to decide whether to retry the case.
