Former ‘American Idol’ contestant charged with wife’s murder in Ohio

Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn is on trial in Ohio, accused of murdering his wife, Ashley, and staging the scene to make it appear that an intruder was responsible.

Flynn called 911 in February and reported that someone had broken into his home and shot his wife, but police found no intruder when they arrived.

Authorities questioned Flynn’s account and arrested him three days after Ashley’s death, charging him with murder.

He was later indicted on additional charges, including felonious assault, evidence tampering, and witness intimidation, with his bond set at $3.5 million, WRAL News has reported.

Flynn has pleaded not guilty, and prosecutors have not publicly disclosed a motive, while his attorney has criticized what he described as a rushed investigation and judgment.
