Texas executed Ker’Sean Ramey, 41, for his role in the 2005 killings of three people during an attempted robbery at a home in Edna.

Ramey was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death for the shootings of Samuel Roberts, Tiffani Peacock and Celso Lopez, who were killed after Ramey and LeJames Norman searched their home for cocaine.

Norman, who also pleaded guilty to capital murder and testified against Ramey, was executed at the same prison one week earlier.

Ramey’s attorneys argued that jurors should have heard about his childhood abuse and poverty, while prosecutors pointed to what they described as an escalating pattern of criminal behavior, The Guardian has reported.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected Ramey’s final appeal hours before his lethal injection, making him the sixth person executed in Texas this year.
