Three employees were critically injured in a workplace shooting at a United Rentals facility in Manassas, Virginia, on Wednesday morning. 

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Marvin Grant, who was believed to be a coworker and fled the scene after the shooting. 

Grant was later stopped by police on Interstate 81 in Augusta County after a pursuit.

Police said he pulled out a gun after stopping, and he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a tactical team and negotiator were deployed, ABC News has reported.

The three victims remained in critical condition as authorities investigated the shooting as an act of workplace violence.
